During a race if you start to get stomach cramps what is the best thing to do ie stop and wait for a while, ignore it and carry on, just take it slow???
Kerry,
One main reason cyclists shave their legs is because is facilitates the post race massage, often done with toners, oils, etc. The road rash reason is secondary (why do they not, then, shave their arms?) There is no difference in speed with or without leg hair. (The reduced drag from “streamlining” is cancelled by the loss of the “sail” effect in tailwinds.) Tradition (fashion) also plays a major role. (Why are there so few hairy power lifters? Probably because of oils used to make them shiny…
Shaved legs makes it easier for a professional or self-massage after a workout or race. Of course, with shaved legs applying sunscreen to your legs is a snap!

You forgot reason #24. Men with shaved legs look sexier in short shorts and leotards (trisuits)
Definitely has the sexiest legs of any guy I’ve ever seen
So Kerry, where do you stop shaving? I mean, how far up the leg? at the bicycle shorts line? at the tri-suit line? bikini line? waist line?
