I have talked about the importance of
running technique. So what dose this
have to do with the shoes your ware?
Unfortunately most shoes will make you
strike inefficiently when running. Most
shoes are designed to make you strike
smack down on your heel and are over
cushioned.
Yes over cushioned.
There have been many
studies that have shown that a cushioned
shoe causes more shock and impact on the
body.
Basically when you uses a cushioned shoes
the receptors in your foot are impaired. When
this happens your body looses its ability to
strike properly. Thus you smash down on you
heel.
Don’t believe this is true go run down the street
on your heels in bare feet. Then run down the
street in your bare feet the way you want. You
won’t be landing heel first in the latter.
There are are runners out there who do nothing
but run in there bare feet and hardly get injured.
Coincidence? Hardly.
So what shoes to rock? The thinner the lighter the
better. These types of shoes will generally have less
technology that will allow your foot to
work the way it needs to.
