Treadmill training

Ahhh… they joys of the treadmill. Some love it some despise it.

Personally I rather pull my own teeth out. Is it worth running on the treadmill?

Here are the advantages,

1) You can control the elements and
variables such as speed, incline and
environment. Making for really spot
on specific workouts.

2) You can learn how to pace your
self pretty well given that you can
control the speed.

the down side

1) Boring!!!!!!!!!! Personally, that clock
in front of me the whole time kills me.

2) Proper body lean for technique is
difficult as the controls in front get in the
way.

3) doesn’t simulate the road or trails
as well.

It is always best to go out side if you can as the more you simulate race conditions the better.

However it is better to run on the treadmill rather than doing nothing and there are some world class runners who have done nothing but train on the treadmill.
