I just raced today in Florida.
The ocean water here is warm but this morning they told us the swim was wetsuit legal. Every one
scoffed at wearing a wetsuit. That is crazy because the water is too warm.
Right…..?
Yea the water is warm but a wet suit makes you faster no matter who you are.
I brought my wetsuit just in case. When I herd it was wetsuit legal I grabbed it and through it on.
People looked at me like I was nuts.
Nuts…. or was I just experienced to know better?
So I lined up ready to go and the only person there wearing a wetsuit.
I took the lead about 1/4 of the way on the swim and kept the lead the rest of the race.
It all counts. No matter how silly I may have looked to every one in the beginning, being the only one in a wetsuit, I didn’t look to shabby in 1st place on the podium.
My traithlon coaching advice to you today is even tough small things like a wetsuit may seem to add a trivial amount of speed it all counts in the end.
